Pyongyang, June 15 (Prensa Latina) - The Democratic People´s Republic of Korea called today for the promotion of Korea´s reunification, using the June 15 Declaration as a guide, in commemoration of the twelfth anniversary of the document, adopted at a summit between North and South.

  An editorial in the Rodong Sinmun newspaper notes that the main theme of the text “among ourselves, as a nation,” is a patriotic ideal pointing towards independence and overall unity.

The editorial adds that the passage of time since the document’s adoption clearly proves its vitality and validity, while Koreans have learned that its implementation will ensure reunification and a bright future for the nation.

The newspaper, published by the Workers’ Party of Korea, states that those who sympathize with the truth and justice “among ourselves, as a nation” have pushed for reunification while rejecting interference by aggressive forces, through a strong spirit of independence.

Meanwhile, another editorial, in the Minju Joson newspaper, recognizes that there are still obstacles on the difficult path to implement the declaration, while stating that “no force can break the nation’s will for reunification.” 

The document also establishes bases for the beginning of inter-Korean economic cooperation, among other matters.
