The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine held a march and rally in Ramallah on Saturday, September 22, 2012, in solidarity with Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails. Protesters carried photos of the prisoners, including many posters of imprisoned PFLP General Secretary, Comrade Ahmad Sa’adat.
The marchers also carried banners with photos of many prisoners, including those serving more than 25 years in prison, along with messages that Palestinian negotiators have continually neglected the prisoners throughout over twenty years of futile and failed negotiations. Slogans demanded the end of the so-called “peace process” and negotiations that have only brought further injustice to the Palestinian people.
Slogans on signs also called for resistance as the path to liberate prisoners, and calling on the armed resistance to capture Israeli soldiers in order to free Palestinian prisoners.
Chants at the march emphasized resistance as the road to win our freedom, describing the agreements between the Palestinian Authority and the Zionist enemy as agreements of shame. Participatns denounced the outrageous policy of security coordination with the occupation, including the Authority’s continuing arrests of activists and the security apparatus’ work to undermine the resistance.
The PFLP confirms its commitment to resistance in all forms to achieve freedom for our people and our land and stands alongside the prisoners in the battle for freedom and dignity, and denounces all forms of security coordination with the Zionist enemy.
