Activist photographer Jenna Pope received a head wound during the Justice for Kimani Gray protest in Brooklyn, NY, March 13, 2013. She was hospitalized with a concussion but is now out.
“This was the arrest I was photographing before I was hit in the head by a thrown object and had to go to the hospital. I have multiple shots of this arrest, and the woman being arrested is in the fetal position in every single one, yet the cop keeps going at her. These Brooklyn protests are in response to the NYPD shooting and killing 16 year old Kimani Gray.
“Head stitched up… hurts like a mother fucker. Will be taking it easy for the next few days…”
