Activities of Communist Party of Kazakhstan suspended

On December 25, in the absence of the Communists themselves, the Specialized Inter-district Economic Court of Almaty city decided to suspend the activities of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan (CPK) for three months, with the possibility of its complete elimination. The leaders of the CPK Central Committee learned of the decision of the court only on January 10, when it was already in force, without the right of appeal.

This is the third suspension of the activities of the CPK. Prior to this, the party’s activity was suspended for six months in October 2011, for entry into the unregistered “Popular Front”, on the eve of elections to the Majilis and then in April 2012. Now history repeats itself, the truth is it will likely lead to the complete closure of the only remaining opposition party in the country. …

Such violence is dictated at the CPK by the official anti-communist propaganda, and the desire to destroy any political representation of workers. As in the previous statement, we reiterate that the Socialist Movement Kazakhstan unequivocally opposes attempts by the authorities to ban the CPK, as well as against the whole policy to destroy the opposition in the country, and calls on the remaining communists to continue to fight for the preservation of their party and work together against a common enemy - the power of capital!
