Communist Party of Ukraine: After the bloodshed, what next?
Armed clashes between radical extremists and law enforcement agencies, which began in Kiev on January 19 and continue until now - is a political judgment on those in power and the opposition.
The irresponsible actions of the government to get involved in an adventure called European integration, ignoring the key socio-economic problems, increasing social stratification, inequitable distribution of public goods, increasing poverty and lumpenization caused massive popular indignation, which was immediately taken advantage of by the so-called opposition in the fight for the presidency.
As a result, Ukraine has been in the same line where peaceful protests and fair social demands of the people were used to foment civil conflict and the elimination of the constitutional mechanisms for the resolution of political and socio-economic problems. For more than a year normal operation of the Verkhovna Rada has been virtually blocked by “the opposition."
At the same time, the Communist Party has repeatedly warned against the threat to export to Ukraine the sort of "democratic revolutions” on the Libyan and Syrian scenario, that threatens to divide the country and foment civil war.
Unfortunately, this scenario is being actively implemented by the West through its “fifth column”, which is based on the former “orange” movement, the neo-Nazis of “Freedom” and other nationalist organizations, the ultras and representatives of various “grantoedskih ” funds.
Communists call for the authorities and the “opposition” to solve political problems by peaceful and legal means, abandoning use of force and putting aside coup scenarios exported to Ukraine.
The Communist Party appeals to the citizens of Ukraine with an appeal not to succumb to provocations. We demand that the government and the so-called opposition remove from the streets of the hero-city of Kiev the criminals and fascist goons, and that foreign politicians and states stop the blatant interference in the internal affairs of Ukraine.
The referendum that was blocked by both the government and the opposition, was and remains the only legitimate way to resolve conflicts arising between the political forces as well as the determination of Ukraine’s regional and geopolitical course. As long as there is a possibility of a peaceful resolution of the political crisis, the government and the opposition should return to the negotiating table to seek compromises, and not talk to each other the language of ultimatums and strength.
For its part, the Communist Party is ready to present concrete proposals to resolve the situation and for the country’s withdrawal from the political, economic and social crisis.
