Natalia Marques: On Sept. 23, hundreds of people packed the auditorium of the New York Society for Ethical Culture to hear Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel speak, along with Venezuelan Foreign Affairs Minister Yván Gil Pinto, historian and director of the Tricontinental Institute for Social Research Vijay Prashad, and Cuban-trained physician and activist Dr. Samira Addrey. It was the last activity in Díaz-Canel’s week-long visit to New York City for the United Nations 78th General Assembly.

On Sunday evening, Sept. 24, two molotov cocktails were hurled at the embassy following the successful visit by Cuba’s President Miguel Díaz-Canel to the United Nations.
