The CIA station in Ecuador prepared in advance, together with Ecuadorian elite units, the operation to capture former Vice President Jorge Glas at the Mexican Embassy.

Prior to the operation, the CIA station in Quito shared with the government of Ecuador all available information from the Mexican Embassy, and the exact location of Jorge Glas. Information acquired from secret listening and filming applications illegally installed in the Mexican Embassy.

Twenty-five years ago — on the night of May 7-8, 1999 — the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Belgrade, Yugoslavia, was deliberately bombed by the U.S. Air Force.

This war crime was committed during the 78-day-long bombing of then-socialist Yugoslavia by NATO. Three Chinese journalists were killed. At least twenty were injured.

The Israeli attack is a significant violation of international law.  Embassies are sovereign territories of the nation they represent under the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.

Israel has conducted numerous attacks in Syria and Lebanon. This strike marks the first Israeli attack on Iranian diplomatic territory.

The attack comes as the U.S. authorized a new arms shipment to Israel, including powerful bombs.

U.S. plan to discredit Chinese investments unmasked

Harare, Zimbabwe: The United States is sponsoring a strategy to undermine Chinese investments in Zimbabwe by smearing the Asian giant’s enterprises as engaging in widespread labor malpractices, as well as violation of human, community and environmental rights, among other ills.

Private media journalists are being trained by an outfit called Information for Development Trust (IDT), which poses as an independent investigative journalism center, with the funding of the U.S. Embassy in Harare.

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla discussed the April 30 attack on the country’s embassy in Washington with the press

By Raúl Antonio Capote

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, during a May 12 online press conference, to discuss the April 30 terrorist attack on the Cuban embassy in the United States, stated: “Here is an attacker, an AK-47 rifle, 32 shell casings, 32 bullet holes and a statement – by the perpetrator – of his intention to attack and kill.”

From the U.S. government we have received only silence, a silence that we know well, one that has accompanied violence against Cuba by groups based in U.S. territory for years. Every wave of terror was preceded by rabid campaigns of hate, rancor, threats, and attempts to discredit Cuba’s work in the international arena, alongside tightening of the economic siege.

Cuba saves lives!

By Cheryl LaBash

Shots were fired at the Cuban Embassy in Washington, D.C., in the early hours of April 30. Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parilla reported by tweet this morning that “mission staff was not injured and is safe. Investigation is in progress.” Rodríguez Parilla emphasized, “It is the responsibility of States to protect diplomats accredited to them and their facilities.”

This attack comes just the morning after U.S. Vice President Mike Pompeo and other administration officials made public statements vilifying Cuba’s humanitarian international medical missions.

Behind the scenes, U.S. diplomatic arm twisting has failed to block requests for Cuban medical assistance. In frustration, Pompeo singled out Qatar, and South Africa welcoming its second brigade.

Venezuelan Embassy Protectors – An epic act of resistance and a show trial of our times

By Lauren Smith

On February 11, four American peace activists, known as the Embassy Protection Collective, will be tried before the U.S. empire for “interfering with certain protective functions” of its Federal government for their occupation of the Venezuelan embassy in Washington, D.C. to prevent it from being handed over to coup leaders sponsored by the Trump administration. Their occupation ended on May 16, 2019, when federal agents broke into the sealed embassy, against international law, and arrested them in a swat style raid.

The government’s accusation against the Embassy Protection Collective is merely a pretext used for their arrest and prosecution, since they haven’t broken any laws. Matter of fact, their true crime in the minds of the Trump administration is just the opposite – it’s their defense of international law, and Venezuela’s sovereign right to self-determination against Yankee imperialism.
