A MintPress News study of major U.S. media outlets’ coverage of the Yemeni Red Sea blockade has found an overwhelming bias in the press, which presented the event as an aggressive, hostile act of terrorism by Ansarallah (a.k.a. the Houthis), who were presented as pawns of the Iranian government.
While constantly putting forward pro-war talking points, the U.S. was portrayed as a good faith, neutral actor being “dragged” into another Middle Eastern conflict against its will.

That’s the fear being voiced by Tucker Carlson, Glenn Greenwald, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, the Pentagon leaker, and their kind.

The most dangerous poison is racism. The latest version of this poison is the claim that white people are being “replaced.” Tucker Carlson tells his Fox News audience that they’re being pushed aside by immigrants as well as by all Black, Brown and Asian people.
It wasn’t immigrants that closed nine of the ten GM plants in Flint, Michigan, destroying more than 70,000 union jobs between 1980 and 2006. Capitalism committed this mega job theft. That’s a real replacement that Tucker Carlson won’t talk about.

From the establishment New York Times to the far-right Fox News, the U.S. capitalist media have been on a campaign to demonize the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. The “news” presented by these two wings of the capitalist establishment aims to discredit the leadership of the DPRK and cover up the amazing progress made by this socialist country, despite its being assaulted by war and sanctions.
This writer appeared on Feb. 12 on the Tucker Carlson News Hour of Fox TV. In the less than five minutes of time I was allowed to speak, I concentrated on alerting the 2.9 million viewers of that program to the serious war danger posed by the Pentagon, which is openly discussing — and actually preparing for — an attack on the DPRK.
People in the United States need to know that the Trump administration and the Pentagon are playing with fire. The DPRK will fight back if attacked. It has the will and the ability to defend itself. It is not going to surrender to threats. It never has.
Neither the Times nor even Fox will admit to promoting a war. Carlson said “I’m not for a war” when I pushed him. But their “news” is war propaganda. It is meant to soften up the people of this country to accept a war against the DPRK as somehow a “humanitarian” crusade. They create sensational stories to put the DPRK in the worst light. Fox is frenzied; The Times is usually more nuanced, while still viciously biased against the DPRK.

Say NO to Muslim and Immigrant Bashing, Racism, Police Violence, and War
Today we face the most extreme national and international crisis since 9/11. This is a crisis that can quickly expand.
The time is now to focus on Trump and the corporate media. Trump is inciting violence, filling stadiums with racist, bigoted mobs and mobilizing them into an ominous force.
The media is acting as giant megaphone, providing constant coverage of fascist proposals like a national database and ID cards for Muslims, causing vicious attacks on immigrants and refugees, and all the while justifying new wars, vastly increased police violence and publicizing the most disgusting racism.
The shooting of five Black Lives Matter activists in Minneapolis, the deadly shooting at the Colorado Planned Parenthood, the attacks on Mosques and the Muslims pulled off of flights, desperate refugees barred from entering the U.S., the vicious anti-immigrant slurs and escalating police killings – all are a result of a poisoned political climate that encourages fascist violence.
From the Middle East to East Europe to Asia Pacific, the Pentagon is moving in the direction of wider war. Racism, fear of immigrants and anti-Muslim bigotry is being used to justify new crimes.
This is not an election issue. It is clear now that Trump and his corporate supporters are trying to actually build a fascist movement.
Whenever fascism rears its ugly head, it is the duty of all progressive forces to unite in struggle and solidarity against it.
This is an urgent time to bring together all those who fight for justice and human rights in a powerful show of unity and solidarity.
